why did my 462 pop at 5000 rpm

got the pan out of the barn . rod broke on each side bolts and nuts still on part of cap my avitar you can see it

For what it's worth, I didn't forget about ya. I do have the pan pix on a CD and need to down-size them before posting. Just after my computer went down and things got real busy. I'll try to get them here ASAP.
