Getting ready for a trip south starting Monday, did the usual, checked tire pressure, coolant, belts, etc. Everything was good until I grabbed the wrong jug. Topping off the windshield washer tank but used a water based degreaser instead of the regular windshield washer fluid. I probably got a 1/2 pint of it in there. I'm not worried about the system or the wiper blades just the paint. There is nothing about paint damage in the warning section. Any thoughts on this?

Take a hose and overfill the reservoir and continue flushing it for about a minute. Then put the hose on the windshield and turn on thw wiper and washer fora few minutes to lower the level and add the CORRECT fluid.
    Simple, no?

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Pull the hose and drain the tank, then pull the supply hose to the spay bars, and use jump wires to fire up the pump and flush with the good stuff and you should be fine.

I'd flush it out if I could, Bob, or do the overfill on water idea. It would suck if it smears or hazes your windshield at night.

A $5 turkey baster may remove the tank contents if it's a bear to remove the jug.

I like the turkey baster and the flooding of the tank idea, i am going to get as much of the fluid as I can out and then flush it till it runs clear. The take some of the water out and add the right stuff this time. The only thing that has been contaminated at this time is the holding tank. I will test it while sitting in the drive way, it might not be good to do while driving. As Lucas said that cleaner might haze the windshield! Thanks for the suggestions

You could disconnect the hose going to the squirter and run the pump to drain it back into the jug.

I mixed the first street cleaner @ 30% with water and tossed it on the rear window of my old Jeep Cherokee with the wiper going, it comes right off, leaves no film or residue.
