Got a rebuilt trans ready to go in and would like to install the correct lines. Are there any 200-4r equipped cars that have lines that will work with a 455 installed? I plan on buying new prevent lines if possible.

When I did the 455 swap into a '81 Regal some 25 years ago...I let the transmission dictate the placement of the engine. As far as the transmission lines, the trans never moved so I reused the stock ones that were installed in the vehicle.

I used steel braided transmission line and ran it along the top of the fender well with hose fasteners in my 85 Regal with 200-4R. Ran directly to a trans cooler in front of the radiator. This was the way my trans builder Vince Janis recommended for the best cooling results. Works real good and looks nice to.

Years ago, I did a SBB swap. If I recall correctly You can use lines from any CHEVY powered A or G body 2 or 4 door from 78 until 88. Why Chevy you ask? The lines ran next to the frame rail, clear of where the headers would be. I just happened to have access to a totaled (rear-ended) 83 Pontiac with a 305-4BBL / TH-350C or TH-200C at the time. SBB had headers, and 3.8 V-6 lines would have interfered with the headers. I used a few oversized ADELL(?) cushion clamps to secure the lines to the frame.

ok thanks guys. If I can't get these lines hooked up or modified to use, maybe I'll go with some monte lines or something. Couldn't find anything under regal.

I just used a summit flexible braided setup, comes w -an fittings. 7 foot hoses. Made by advance adapters I think. Ran thru the frame of my 72. Looks clean and works great. About $100.

Yep or get the AN adapters and then go to your local hydraulic shop and buy Parker pushloc hoses and JIC fittings. Probably run you $40-50 tops for all of it. Worst part would be waiting on the AN adapters if you don't have a local speedshop. That's how I did mine. Ran it up over the passenger side heat shield and then through the frame near the coil spring pocket. The hydro place even had these nifty abrasion guards for the hosing made specifically by parker for their hose. Threw those around the hoses where they had the potential for rubbing and zip tied them. Clean, easy, and very easy to work on if necessary.

... exactly like my set-up with the B&M Super-Cooler mounted on my A/C condenser using. I use 1-inch lines to and from the TH400 to the cooler in my 455-Regal; which reminds me that I need to have the condenser removed ... NO A/C.

I use Teflon SS line and run it next to the block. I wrap that line with the aluminized heat tape. At this point I only use Teflon SS hose or plain push lock style hose. Will not use rubber SS hose anymore.

I had a set of 200-4r lines sitting around so I used those. Seem to work fine but haven't got exhaust up yet.
