So almost 2 years ago, I order a pair of 15 X 8" Buick chrome wheels, with custom 5" backspacing, from Wheel Vintiques. They happily take my 622.00, and the wait begins. Every so often, I call, and they say that they are getting close to fulfilling the order. Yesterday, I get this e mail, So I tell them how I feel, and get this, Then my final e mail to them, The chrome wasn't the best to begin with, it won't get any better, and it might get worse.
I have a set of their custom offsets steel wheels. Good quality. Shame they are not doing custom orders anymore.
It sucks but at least they are giving you your money back. Business gets sold, new owners have no obligation to keep previous promises (unless there is some strong contract involved and then they would lawyer up).
I agree with Luxus / Walter on this one -- just getting your money back on a recent purchase is a small victory nowadays, and getting your money back on something you ordererd 2 years ago? Take it and don't look back. Heck, at least Sara is showing some empathy and a little frustration with the situation too. And yeah Larry, it does suck but it coulda been worse.
Sadly, I wanted a custom set of wheels from them as well, but I talked to them about a year ago and they told me that custom wheels were no longer available from them.
You've been waiting two years? You have far more patience than I do, sir. Take the money and find another source.
Owners of pro street cars looking for new tires have been dealing with this as well. Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires orders never got filled and now Hoosier pro street sizes the same….. keep saying there do in next month, any day blah blah in the mean time almost $1200 is tied up. Last I heard M/T got bought by GoodYear and they may not manufacture big tires anymore. Hoosier’s sizes are a bit different but there isn’t any choices. We haven’t even been able to talk to a Sara
I can't believe they are the only game in town to do this type of wheel customization. Like others have said, you're fortunate to get a full refund. Their customer service seems tight in that regard. Some companies it's a struggle to get a refund if you just bought something last week.
Image Google her name and Wheel Vintiques and you'll get her LinkedIn picture on the first hit. Its called the Internet
That is how I imagined her, yeah. seems like the beginning of the end of performance stuff if you do not have the cookie cutter car parts, we do nothing special any more, we make no money and it is a hassle to retool our machine to give you just one or two parts. Can't you just buy a Chevy or Ford where the parts are made everyday on the same machine. These A-Holes should be a printer where you are Constantly doing specialty work and not the cookie cutter 4 color jobs that are easy to run. Yeah I like easy, I got 40 years + of nothing easy.
BTW, my Refund check says, Roadster Wheels, LLC, Wheel Vintiques, 1317 Chestnut Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
