Our new engine made its Dyno runs yesterday Evening. Dyno sheets will be posted soon. The specs are 475 CID girdled and 3/4 filled with hardblock shortblock, Diamond custom dished pistons, H-Beam rods, 10.75:1 compression (pumpgas engine), bigger then 308S custom made cam with counterbore washerbearing, alu STG1TE heads with oversized valves 345CFM flow, TA 1.6 Roller Rockers SP2A intake, custom valleypan, PROFORM 950 CFM race carb, MSD Pro Billet Distributor. External oilpump, TA Meziere electric waterpump (This was not installed on the Dyno, because it was in backorder its on its way now do). What is your guess what this engine made on the Dyno? HP/RPM Torque/RPM Here are some pictures of the engine:
Anymore people who want to make a guess? Come on, this is not a Chevy on the spray or a Mopar motor who really needs a diaper, or a Ford that only runs good under pressure. Its a Buick engine that knows how to make Torque on its own, like mother nature does. And anyone knows: if you want something moved you need Torque, and lots of it. I have never seen HP move a mountain, but I have seen Torque move an Island. Tomorrow I will post the results, and remember those who are the closest with HP/Torque and the RPM that goes with it wins a 1 minute vacation trip to my home country, sorry its all I can afford right now. Cause...You need lots of CI and HP to get a chevy guy to part with his money. But A Buick guy gets caught up in the Torque flood that cleans his soul and washes away his hard earned cash...but its allright..our mind is in peace after that first drive....in close contact..finally with mother nature! :TU:
Anything around/over 700 ft lbs requires much more stroke (cubic inch) and compression than we had with Robert's motor.. Sweesy's 529 at 14.5 compression made 765 torque. We are only at 475 ci and 10.75 here.. Several of you early guys were very close. Modify your guesses accordingly. JW
Hey JW, I guess we could use the European standard measurement for torque..thats in Newton meters..then it will pass Sweesy's 529CID torque number with ease. But hey! What ever it is, its a enough for me! (for now..oh no its allready starting again!.. JW are there allready package deals available for those new TA alu engine shortblocks...? P.S. JW where are the Dynosheets? I have to tell these guys what the numbers are very soon.
