Not sure if this is in the correct forum or not so Mod please move if needed.

What would be a reasonable retail value is for a 1970 GS 455 Convertible - cream colored with black interior.

Matching numbers 455 with auto/trans - on the column
AC, PS, PB, P top, Ram Air hood, bucket seats, protecto plate, etc.

    Condition 2
    Condition 1

I was thinking between $35 and $40K. Thoughts?

I think you are right on the money, $35k - $40k for a strong number #2 car. Are you referring to the one that Mershon's has and is asking $50k for? Nice car, but should definitely be in the thirties, maybe even low to mid, versus mid to high. I would say that you have to deduct a little for it being a column shift bucket seat car. I think Tony's car that sold for $36k was nicer, even though his wasn't "color" matching (it was originally cream, now red, definitely a step up in most people's book).

I talked to the owner of the GS convertible that is on consignment to Mershons a couple of weeks ago at a cruise in. He paid 32K for it awhile back and did several things to it to make it nicer. Sounded like a very, very nice car. 70K miles, all original components with paperwork galore. He did mention that it was originally a silver car with black top and interior. He seemed determined that it would take 50 to buy it.

Yep, I was looking at the GS 455 at the Mershons site. Turns out it sold this week for $45,000. The original asking price in hemmings was $49,900 and then dropped to $45,000 - sold for the asking price. If you check the Mershon's sold inventory - you will see the same GS that sold 2 years ago (I was told) for $34,900. Still looking -
