Been pretty quiet in here for a few days , so I got a question for you veteran guys that have been there and done this ,My engine is at Wildcat for some new steel rods and a dyno session, my goal is 700hp, think I got the hardware? 464 11.75to1 Stage2 TE's 2.125 1.75 3/8 stem ported by myself no.numbers sorry, very mild runner work with heavy bowl, guide and chamber work, yea I know not much info. 259/267 635 635 110LSA Solid 1.65rockers Sp2 1in tapered spacer 1050 Dom 2 1/8 tubes
My better judgement tells me 650 but 700 just has that ring to it,..makes me feel all fuzzy and warm ha
If felt like a BEAST for the short time it was alive at last years Nats, before it took a dump at a redlight on my way to the track, it was putting a few in of space under the fronts just dryhopping it around the parking lot . Pulled WAY harder than the 415rwhp 11.50 setup that proceeded it . But I totally transformed the car from AC equipped street cruiser with 3.31 gear to a stripped down 4.10 geared piece at the same time as the new engine so who knows but,I cant wait to see how my heads work and what power it makes, just have results by mid September at the latest
I say 680. I've made that much with ported SE heads and just 1/2 point more compression and a smaller cam.
I reckon, wish that wasn't case because im only gonna have a few weeks to get it all dialed in and ready. Ive went back and forth on the compression I could get it up to almost 13 with my current pistons and either put it on e85 or 112 but race gas is no fun for street driving, e85 would be doable for me , I just wonder then if I wouldn't be getting on the edge of reliability with the increased cyl psi and the block itself being its a half fill, billet main non girdled ?.,, idk would it be worth another 50hp and maybe 50ftlbs
My 464 made 630 hp with the 308s. I have a different cam now and a little more head work although I have S2 Street Eliminator heads. I am hoping for a few more ponies too. I will say too I have the Wildcat Intake which is a little better than the SP2.
Nahh, no girdles, went with stock rods after all, gonna keep Rpm below 6300 and hope for the best its halfilled, studded, and has billet mains.
Shawn and Jim you are the weiners!! 646hp at 6400 579tq at 5100 Compression ended up at 11.1 110tho piston to valve 33lbs hot idle Im thinking some 10's should be no problemo Mikes Dyno is a little on the conservative/accurate side from what I seen in the past so thats encouraging also. Will post a idle and its track debut here soon
Turns out even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while after all!! Haha. Nice numbers man, that's a killer mill!
