    Hi all,
pretty much got the Stage 1 ready for assembly on got to get some more bearings. Anyways, right now I have a turbo 400 to bolt the engine up to but would like to go to a standard transmission if it is possible. What kind of trans should I be looking for??? The engine should have over 500 HP and more torque with the work I have had done to it. I want to find something I can buy but not blow up the first time I punch the gas :). Thanks for any help you guys I'll keep you updated on the progress and maybe a video or two (possible with some tire smoke  )

    Gerald,

If your looking for "bulletproof", then a Muncie M-22 that has been worked over, will take the abuse. Mods would depend on driving style and weather or not it will be a drag only car. If you want the best of both worlds, a T56 6spd would be the way to go. Can find either on E-bay, buy from a dealer and get warrenty info. The board members here are great, they can help source either trans as well.

The Super T-10 is another choice that will work. Most of the NASCAR teams use some variation of this trans. Cast iron case with a 9 bolt side cover is the most common version. Can be found in 1970's F-bodies.
