I am doing a frame off restoration on my 71 GS 350 convertible and am pondering whether to use a set of NOS quarter panels that I have for a HT or get some reproduction skins to replace the rear quater panels. In one respect I already have these quarter panels and in the other I hate to cut them up to use on my car. Are there repro skins out there that are worth it and fit well?

Carl - The rear quarters are a bit different on convertiblesw vs. HT's........You might want to give Jim at Tri-Shield a call. He just put a pair of quarters on a '71 GS convertible this month, and he got in another set for my '70 GS convertible, which will be going on this winter. There are a couple of repos out there, but these are the nicest ones available for our Buicks, according to a couple of very good body guys. Good luck!

What Kind of Qtrs did you get for your car? Were they Tabco?

Chris - Yep, they were Tabco, and like I said, a very knowledgeable body guy (and Buick GS guy, by the way), said those are the best available for our Buicks.

    Cole,

Any idea what the quarters cost?

P.S. I realize the ht and conv. quarters are different and if I was to use the ht quarters, they would have to cut down to fit the body. That is my issue - reluctant to cut the one's I have to fit the body line!

They run between $350 and $400 for a pair.
