Hi, Im in a similar boat, Im 24 right now, purchased my 70 wildcat when i was 17. I've been purchasing parts to get her back together (fenders doors etc) but the rear of the car needs alot of work, so much so that It may be better for me to get a whole body. Ive been looking for quarter panels or parts cars with no luck. Just wondering what you ended up doing?

So far, I have just been driving it around. I know of a parts car where I can get new back doors, deck lid, and qaurter panels, but the cost is so much. I did find a really good body of a convertiable. It was only 1500, all complete, other than the engine and transmission. It sold, but if I had been able too get that, I would have and then switched everything over to the convertible. Its a sticky situation, and each option presents several cons. I think im just going to hang on to it for now, and get the peicess I need little by little. If another good body pops up I might take that rout too. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the earliest buick model I could put a 401 and 3 speed turbo hydromatic transmission in?

Drop in? 1964. With a little modification work? 1961. With a lot of work and a whole new driveline, 1953.

Sounds like a good time to learn how to weld.

Ok nevermind then. There's a wildcat up here that could be used for parts but it's way to far and would cost a fortune to ship the body panels you need.
