I'm putting a different convertible top pump in my car and was going to top it up with new fluid. What type should i be using?
anyone have any good secretes on bleeding the system?

ATF, Dexron. Remove fasteners attaching lift cylinders to top mechanism. Position where they can cycle without hitting top. Put ATF in reservoir as needed. You CAN loosen fittings at cylinders first to allow lines to bleed, but can be messy. Just keep checking and adding to the reservoir as needed until you get the 'quiet' operation sound (No squeeling, popping, errattic movement. It can take some time.) Re-attach lift cylinders to top mechanism and test operate several more times, as under load, it will take more effort for the pump.
Then enjoy the benefits of top down cruising... Oh sorry... I see you're in Canada... It is a nice, clear 73 degree Friday afternoon here in South Carolina... Perfect for TOP-DOWN...

    Thanks for the info
as well as the reminder that it's snowing here and my car has been in storage since October. Only a couple more months till I can get her out again.
Did I mention I don't like winter. haha

Check these guys out www.convertibleparts.com and look up their Fluid-Matic for bleeding/filling a system. I've had one for years and it works great.
