What kind of a clutch are you running?

I am running a CenterForce II 11" clutch disc, pressure plate, and throw out bearing.

The pedal pressure is fairly light, and it works great.

I have about the same HP as you 520hp/550tq and I had my trans rebuilt with the Italian made input/1st gear and counter shaft gear set. I did not use the M22 gears, just the standard M20 set.
I have a 12 bolt with 3:55 gears and a Auburn Pro Posi. I am also running the Centerforce clutch setup. I have hammered the heck out of my car for 2 years and have had no issues with it yet. As the others have said, it is money well spent. :TU:

Scott, I'd bet you're not running slicks either, not with that kind of torque & a rebuilt stock case M20.

Will give my .02 on oem M22 strength. Have a friend who owns an ex E/S '71 455HO Formula. The car ran high 11's in E/S trim in the early '70's & its common knowledge that it went through a garage floor full of M22's running those times. Nice back then, to have a dealer as a partial sponsor :pp

Today, trying to do the same, buy the Supercase & the iron mid plate, otherwise be ready to pick up the pieces :(

The Maisero gears are a bargain. FWIW, two of my original M22 cars now have had their original M22's rebuilt with 'em. Looking for another deal on another set.

    Got Posi?

I guess I did not mention that I was using the new Supercase and iron midplate. :Dou:
I did make @ 8-10 runs on slicks with the original M20 and my original motor with Q-jet/B4b/headers and a GSCA Popular mechanics cam. It was good for some 1.89 60 ft times and 12.60 @ 107. I guess I was lucky it did not break!
I tried some BFG Drag radials 275/60 with my current combo and I still get sideways on the 1-2 shift on the strip at Norwalk :3gears:
I do run 275/60 on 8" rims on the street and I am sure that the spinning I do really helps save parts shock.

I'm thinking that maybe the 2.52 might be a little deep with 4.10's.
