Weight of an 8.5" 10 Bolt Rearend

    :Comp: Question: How much does a 8.5" 10 bolt rearend weigh,with drums and pinion yoke? i'd like to know how many people will take to move it... Jay B.Britt,Jr.:confused:

    Well...two of us middle aged guys struggled to load mine in the back of a pick up.

    Agreed, my dad and I have loaded them with no trouble. Figure two regular (or slightly bigger) guys and you should have no problems.

    I can muscle mine around myself if I have to, but 2 guys and you won't have any problems. They aren't all that heavy

    Weight for an 8.5 with a 30 spline carrier and moser axles assembled is approx 213lbs. With gear oil and drums.
    A very awkward 213lbs, so 2 guys will make life alot easier.

    I've had to lift the by myself forever.HAHA.They're not getting any lighter,but it does help to remove the axles or anything else if you can.I know a bone stock 8.5 is just under 200lbs.I ship them at 225lbs on a pallet,& they weigh unde that,& a completely dressed one,with brakes & all,on a pallet will weigh under 250lbs.That 213 is correct,with you thicker axles & drums.
