I was out in my Wildcat and got caught in an unexpected rain storm last summer. I was soaked from head to toe by the time I got home. The rain was pouring in from between the top and the windshield. It was also dripping all along the edges where the top meets the upper edge of the glass along both sides. The window rubber that seals the water from running down the glass and into the doors are also completely disintegrated.
As far as I'm concerned I need to replace all the weatherstripping on the whole car. So, my questions are:
Is there a kit I can buy that includes everything I need for the convertible?
How do you replace the rubber along the bottom of the windows? Do you need to take the chrome trim off? or do you need to take the interior panel off and drop the window?

Steele Rubber Products carries seals for 68 Wildcat convert. Doorseals, hinge pillars, ETC. Gotta go to work. May post more tomorrow. www.steelerubber.com

On my Centurion convertible I used the camper shell to truck bed weather stripping along the top of the window. Took care of 99% of the leaking when raining. Bought it from the Autozone I worked at for less than $20, iirc. About 2" wide, 1/4" thick, and had adhesive on one side to stick to the top of the window. Just trimmed it a bit on the ends so it didn't stick out.

Thanks, I checked out their website, looks like I'll need to save some pennies for the full roof line kit.

Do you know how to replace the rubber seal where the window retracts into the door?

Most cars have a small screw at the bottom of the seal holding it to the chrome trim, remove the screw and the seal should slide downwards.

Can you do it with the interior panel still on and the window in the door?

Hmm, I think I was thinking of a quarter window seal. I think you are talking about the window felt along the bottom of the window attached to the door? I'm not sure, but I think the door panel has to come off and there are probably multiple screws that hold it on that have to be removed from inside the door with the window up.

I'll look for that when I go retrieve it from it's winter hiding spot. I've got a little dentists mirror and I'll see what's in there.
