I just removed a post on the board here, between a customer and one of the guys doing business in the Buick Performance industry.

Guys, we are all upset with the way the world has been the last couple years.. Covid, lock downs, supply chain nightmares. And then you throw in some personal illnesses and family issues.. just to make it more fun..

I think I speak for every vendor in the business, we are all trying our best to get back on track. All we need is a little understanding, and I am sure everyone will get their parts/engines and what have you..

I hate to see the ugly threads, they serve little purpose, and I did not create this board to show dissension in the Buick Hobby.

    Thanks :)

I gotta say that I am not upset or angry about anything. Life is what it is. There are times when it's wonderful, and there are times that it's less then wonderful. I'm old, there are parts of my body that hurt, and my father and my grandfather were dead when they were more then a decade younger then I am. What do I have to complain about?

A lot of people (me included) got used to getting “stuff” right away.
Nowadays it’s not like that and I’m fine with that, for myself, gives me time to slow down and think “ do you really NEED that Mark?”
    Saves me money for gas:D

Well, I retired and moved and ordered an aluminium fence to go around the back yard of my new house. I ordered it last December. It was installed last Wednesday (May 11) and cost more than the two new GS Buicks I bought in 1970 and 1971 added together.

The 2 couches I needed to order (old ones were 45+ years old and recovering was more than 2 new ones, (which cost more than my '72 Stage 1 convertible new) took 6 months to come in.

Everything is kind of back-ordered these days. I am also very old and have learned patience. In my younger days, not so much.

The real blessing is, one, I can almost afford to pay for all this stuff, and two, after serious cancer surgery, I am doing OK.

It is all relative, friends. As Jimmy says, "It's 5 o'clock somewhere." Chill.

    Cheers!

I'm still waiting for two pars of shoes ordered about 6 months ago. When you're cursed with size 14 EEEE feet, you can't always walk into any shoe store and buy off the rack. My local store often had them before COVID, but that's all changed. I usually have 2-3 new pairs just in case. Down to one, and my old ones are almost worn out. I don't walk very much as a result.

Personally, I think it's a good use of this forum to warn others of questionable vendors, but it's your forum & he may (or may not) even a be a friend/vendor of yours & if so it's understandable to delete. I'm just expressing an opinion here - No offense meant. We've had this with many other vendors over the years and these warnings have undoubtedly saved board members 10's if not hundreds of thousands of $ & much frustration.

If it's the thread I'm thinking of, 3 years for something that is seemingly a labor only job & that was paid up front (a teachable moment) is a long time even if it's legit circumstances that caused the delays (timeline is pre-Covid/supply issues). I guess the true test would be to simply ask for a refund at this point and see what happens.

I've been "that guy" and deserved all the horrible things that were (& probably still are) said about me online. It was never my intention to be but still... Once I saw no path out/forward, I shut down but not before some very regrettable bad deals happened.

It's all been done before. Jim is just asking to keep it to a minimum...I would think.

I'm surprised the whole thread got deleted. Unless of course the OP deleted the thread and JW only deleted a post. The last I saw of it there was nothing particularly nasty.

I think it was wrong to close this thread...the accused vendor should have been given more chance to explain himself.

On the other hand the board owner can do what he wants on his board
