Borrowing my dad's '69 Wildcat for a few months this summer.

After washing the car the carpet in the trunk is wet. Last time I washed it I laid a tarp and some newspaper on the floor and found the leak coming from above were the trunk floor kicks up to go over the rear axle. Crawled in the trunk and there is a plastic trough that runs along under were the top meets the car body and the ends of this trough turn down to drain out the sides somewhere. This trough is loose and I am hoping is the cause of the wet trunk problem. Where does this trough go and how is it attached?

That sounds like the convertible top drip rail. It catches any water that gets past the convertible top and directs it to the weep holes in the bottom of the body panels in front of the rear wheels. It sounds like yours is cracked or pulled away from it's mounts.

I don't feel any cracks/holes in the plastic drip rail but it is in the car loose. Does it screw in? Snap in? How is it attached to the car to hold it in the correct position?
