So when I first bought the car the wiper worked but the washer didn’t, so I said easy fix I’ll just get a new washer motor. In the meantime, I removed the old washer and cleaned all the old gunk and grud off. I also sanded it down to the original zinc color (because it was blue ) While I was cleaning it I found a small piece of a brass rod on the bench, it was determined that came from a resistor from the three plug which had broken off. I was told the motor would still operate fine.
I put everything back together and when I activated the washer switch nothing happened but clicks from the washer motor. When I activated the wiper, the wiper blades came on as well as the washer . So I thought this has to do something with that broken resistor, so I ordered a new wiper motor and installed the new washer motor on to that and back into the car. NOPE the same thing happened, wipers and washing fluid coming out and nothing from the washer switch. I disconnected the two wire plug that connects the washer and it still wiped and washed ... can someone please help this is driving me nuts.

You've got to remember all is operated via grounds. Check the grounding of the wiper motor 1st. Then the switch.
