I have 1 of these crossmember as well, so much easier to deal with.

My car has glass fenders, hood, doors, lean door glass, but full interior bench seat, etc. My car is still about 3300 without my and my aluminum headed 464. I thought about glass bumpers, but man I find myself constantly pushing it pulling on them since everything else is glass. I have a front and rear 70 glass bumper set, they go with the other car I have for sale.........it has lightened door shells, fiberglass decklid, all aluminum trunk floor, wheel wells, door panels etc

Who makes the crossmembers?? I am thinking the backhalf car would like one of them..

I believe mine was made from Finishline Performance. I bought mine used several years ago from Gary Paine

Yes Finishline sold them but I believe Tim Clow made them and he has a ton on his plate so I don't see any being made anytime soon.

I took the stock brackets and drill holes all over them and cut over half the weight on my 67.

One thing some say is replace the stock control arms with aftermarket tube parts. Just did another brand car yesterday and the stock stuff was considerably lighter

Probably depends on the company I would think. I have TRZ and they are considerably lighter than stock.

I think from watching videos that the TRZ stuff is like 15ish pounds lighter than stk. I have a set to go on my car this winter

I have TRZ parts on one of my cars. They are definitely some of the lightest yet still very strong. Some of my other tubular A-arms are rather heavy, but they are what I wanted.

I scraped 8 lbs of rubber and dirt from each rear wheel well for what its worth. Not that I have a race car but I was surprised how much it weighed.

Replace the metal rear arm rests with the plastic ones like the Chevelles and some other makes use in their base interiors.

I believe ABC Performance makes similar crossmembers? They have one that's cheaper without the driveshaft loop, but here's a link to the one that comes with:

    http://www.abcperformance.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_93&products_id=63

That's where I bought my frame boxing kit from so I may end up buying their crossmember as well. It mentions Chromoly as an option!

EDIT: Shipping weight for the above with loop says 19lbs, not sure if that's chromoly.

Curious how you cut it up, got any pictures? Also if Christopher Hill doesn't buy the brackets I may be interested!
