Looking for anything related to Byrn Motor Co in Murfreesboro, TN such as a license plate, license plate frame, dealer emblem, etc. We own a ‘72 GS convertible that was delivered to this dealer in Fall of ‘71. Here is the dealer info from the Sloan documents for our car: 18-419 Byrn Motor Co 740 West College Murfreesboro, TN Thanks,
This would be (yet another) good forum to have for people looking to buy (or sell) specific dealer stuff. Maybe even for general Buick signs/memorabilia, etc. Yea, the wanted & for sale forums work, but seems like it'd be better to separate this type stuff out.
I tracked down a member of the family that ran this dealership and he sent me a photo of one of their dealer emblems. He didn't have one to sell to me but it was cool to see one. So if anyone finds any vintage items related to Byrn Motor Co in Murfreesboro, TN, please keep me in mind.
I'm still looking for a trunk emblem or anything else related to this dealership, Byrn Motor Co. in Murfreesboro, TN. I was fortunate to find two NOS Byrn Motor Co embossed license plates at a local swap meet a few days ago. Needless to say, I was very happy. The seller had one on his table and as I'm handing him the money to buy it, he mentions that he has another one under the table. Score!
Christmas is approaching and I’m hoping one of Santa’s helpers can help me find something from Byrn Motor Co. Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't have any dimensions for the emblem. I got that photo from Mr. Byrn that is one of the former owners of the dealership. I tracked him down and he sent the photo so I would know how their emblems look. He told me his brother is probably the salesman that sold our '72 GS when it was at their dealer. I was shocked to find a NOS Byrn plates within 5 minutes of entering the large annual swap meet in our area. Then finding out the seller had another NOS plate under the table was a nice bonus. He told me he has a third plate but he's keeping it for himself because he's a plate collector. The dealer, Byrn Motor Co, is long gone but the location was only about 40 miles away so these plates never traveled far. Now I need to give the car back on the road so I can install one of the plates on the front bumper. The Byrn Motor Co started as a Ford dealer called C. H. Byrn and Son. Here is the oldest photo I've found: I'm not sure when they changed to GM and Rambler but it looks like the dealer had some kind of split in Dec 1941:
