Ro- I'm 100% sure I have this California emissions set up and began searching for it tonight. I did run across this strange original base. Is it a different version of Cali emissions???? or part of system in your picture??? The picture of it on star wars breather is correct location( front stamped designation)
Good luck, been looking for a replacement one for my CA-emissions 430 for 20 years with no success...hen's teeth...
Here's what I found today. Seems a bit longer with not much of turn to Starwars. Could be for California emissions dual quad nailhead with BUICK script valve cover ?????
Yes I understood you needed rubber part. Was trying to get thoughts on this other base. It is different then other's I have. My thinking it is also Cali. Emissions.
Mike 100% correct on it being a smog base plate, very hard to find. I've seen one in the 80's with the tube going directly into the air cleaner, the provision was tapped. It must have been a real early car or maybe a Riv GS. The heat must have been to much and they relocated it into the base at GM.
I know CARS has a reproduction of this tube for the '68 Maybe that could work or be modified? http://www.oldbuickparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=1296
There used to be two SMOG specialists in Hemmings. Both were in Ohio as I recall. I’ve sent pieces to one of them.
Problem solved, 67 Post GS actually had one! Thanks Ron, and owner is tickled to death, and thanked me too!
