If I werent tearing down the GN for a complete rebuild after Noble that camaro would be mine!I can't stand that guy! Went 6.88 in the 1/8 with a baby launch and still have plenty of boost left in it.Guess I'll have to wait for '06.Then he can feel the 9 second fury of an all aluminum v6 with a 76mm turbo!
Sure!!! I know everyone can't wait to see me actually make a full pass down the track!! Maybe we'll get lined up in '05. Wanted to make Noble this year just to spectate, but have several things I need to take care of on it before I take it out on the road.
You mean the not-able-to-get-all-the-way-down-the-track-on-it's-own problem or the funny-noise-from-the-right-rear-brake-drum-in-the-hotel-parking-lot-the-next-morning problem? uzzled: ou:
We've messed with the carb. some. Seems to be a little better. Think part of the problem is the distributor. It's got some bad wires going to the module. Just need to take the time to put in a new module or rebuild my other distributor. Haven't taken it out to the track because of the rear-end problem. Need to pull the axle to take a look. Started on the rear-end this weekend and got sick! Looks like I'm going to have to miss the LSPBC dyno event this weekend that I was looking forward to. Didn't you see me doing the "Fred Flintstone" down the track after it died? Got my fastest time that way!
Dee We will accept no excuses for the car not being in top form this year!!!!!! Get to work :spank:
It ain't a REAL GS till it's had rubber on the quarters!!! :3gears: (Sorry, but I'm "take no prisoneers" when it comes to racin'!. Both Jarrod and Steve Campbell came to Bash 1 planning not to race. How did that turn out???)
Yeah, your blood gets goin' when you see and smell the tires smokin'. I only didn't want to race just because I had only had the car 6 months out of its 20 year hibernation. Now I can't wait to do it again. :TU: No NASCAR this year to get in the way. Already decided this Texas meet will take priority. Can't wait.
Thats right! no Nascar.... Keep saying it.... Brand X Bash, Brand X Bash I know I am going to have to find some to protect the quarters :3gears:
I use Buick mudflaps on the GN when racing and they work great. Easy on and easy off with binder clips :Brow:
If I do race, it will probably be on radials. As I will probably not be able to afford drag radials with all the other costs of redoing my 72. As for mudflaps I don't know but not opposed I just don't want to thrash my quarters after all that paint work.
Hbc Well, now that we've officially got the Houston Buick Club off and running again, maybe we can get better turnout from this area for the event. Hope so anyway! Hopefully we can also find a way to help out some with sponsorship stuff. Looking forward to it! Steve HBC Director
thanks for the heads up about this thread phil. make that 45 cars and 1 BBB powered chevy truck. i'm really pushing to have the other motor ready by then. we're looking at around 585 hp and 605 tq with iron heads . I'm also trying to get a friend who has a 10 second (all motor) '67 gs to come too. the old car has been in the shed for over 8 yrs now, but he's been bitten by the buick bug again, so i'm hoping he'll be there also. maybe with a little more persuasion, we'll see cliff (cfed) and his beautiful car also!
David what was the name of the guy with the 67. There were some guys up in waco that used to be really active. they owned a 67 also.
