My Fremont CA built 70 GS 455 4 speed car Paint code silver top and bottom 14 14 has a manually stamped (4) above body # on firewall body tag? Anyone know what that indicates? It also has B80 for roof Drip moldings followed by internal codes of 446237 570068 on final line of stamped data
On my Skylark, I did notice one of the mystery codes from the the body tag (270803) shows up on the top right hand side of the build sheet refered to as a DP Sequence Number...that number is also followed by 02. Maybe that 02 corrisponds to the 2 stamped into the body tag? Who knows? Too bad we don't have someone who worked on the bodies back in the day.
I really appreciate this line on decoding. I am the proud new owner of a 65 GS covnert with a very original looking four speed. She's in rough shape and I am just about to dissaemble this car and start the work of cleaning it up (it has been in a wet storage building for over 20 years). Any information on where i can go for decoding info would be helpful Vin is 444675H250245 and the plate is as follows: St 6544467 FB 187281 Body TR 158 R2 Paint W 2 LP 4S 5W Any suggestions on where i might find the build sheet would be appreciated.
