Freakin' sweet. I may have an Olds but that's still sweet. What kind of gears are you running? The only reason I ask is that I have a 4spd W-30 w/4:33's and they wind out (IMO) way too hard and way too fast. When I was 16 and raced my '66 Starfire in the 1/8th, I came up against a Stage I. I remember that race as being the coolest thing in the world. I had the Buick 'til about half track, and then outta nowhere that thing ate my poor 4200lb Olds up.
That not only looks but sounds awesome. Two things, looks like the car bogged out of the hole and how did you bring the revs up while waiting for the light, did you not hold the brake-just the clutch and gas?
I thought the first time it did it, it was bogging. It's not. The tires grabbed and it pulls the RPM of the motor down to about 3000. I was revving it up to 4500 and side stepping the clutch. I don't hold the brake at the line. I roll it into the lights and push the clutch in. The car doesn't want to move at that point. MT Drag Slicks 28.0X 9.0X 15 and they were wasted. That run was a 12.11 with a 1.81 60'
Great video ! :TU: Have you ever try your car on "regular" tire to see how much gain you made with those slicks ? Too bad it turns red ...
I used to run street tires with my other combos and I went from a 14.0 to 13.19 with drag radials. On the street I can hit the shift light spinning the tires through 3rd gear. Three gears of rubber is something I never thought was possible with a heavy car. I think the 3.73's help a lot. I didn't think anyone noticed the RED!
