    Roberta,

Could you e-mail detailed directions on how to get to Flint through Canada from Buffalo? I know you have made that trip many times...

Mike, go I-190 to Niagara Falls, continue to Canada, where you will be on 405 in Canada, which quickly turns into the QEW highway, you will be on this for awhile, and then just norrh of Hamilton ONT, will see signs for 401 west, get in the left lane and follow 401 west to London, Ont, then you will see signs for 402, Sarnia, Ont, right lane. From there 60 miles to to the Michigan Border where they will ask where you are from. what year your car is and a multitude of other things they have thought of just to check out your car! Have the registration, your driver's license or passport for all passengers or birth certificates then continue towards I-94 to get on I=69 West to Flint, follow directions at http://www.buickclub.org/directions.htm or email me for more help! The Minuteman Chapter (Boston area) of the BCA is caravaning through that area on Wednesday (28 cars I think). They are staying in Rochester area on Tuesday evening, I am planning to hook up with them when they come through Niagara Falls on Wed. (where we will be as part of our family vacation). If you go to the BCA homepage and then click on Minuteman Chapter you can then see what they have posted and email their chapter. If you need more info, e-mail me and I will forward you more details as they develop on their route through Niagara.

Hi Roberta - when you say all events are sold out...which events? I plan to go to the race Friday, can I buy tickets at the gate? I plan to see the show, which I assume is free, and tour the museum. Is the museum sold out?

The events you have to pay for other than the race are sold out. The Sloan Museum and Buick Gallery are free that weekend and open to the public. You can race no limit there, pay at the gate, $25 to race and $5 to watch. See ya there! RV

Roberta, thanks for the directions. Do you enter Canada via the peace bridge or in Niagara falls?

I will be bringing the daily driver (cavalier) and not the GS.. Not sure if I want to risk a break down in Canada...

Kyle, I will not be leaving Buffalo until early Friday morning so I will miss the caravan...

Niagara Falls usually is easier. It's about 4 hours exactly from the NY board to Flint, not including customs or pit stops. See ya soon! RV

    Hey Mike.

Roberta your right with that. Mapquest has this the shortest way going through Niagara and Buffalo. I'm actually going home through Niagara as it is about 12 hours door to door from what mapquest said. Going to stop there for a few hours with my son do a little site seeing. Just going to make sure I have all my proper ID along with my sons' and paper work for the car.

Heading to Fllint though, I'm first stopping at Quaker City Raceway, Salem Ohio early in the week (Sun through Mon), to gather all info for the BPG event in August of '04 and drop by Denny and Renny Moore's house. Then a quick stop at Summit Racing on Tuesday while on my way to Flint. I guess I'll have to stock pile some extra $$$$$.

    Have a safe trip to everyone...CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Thanks for the info,Roberta. As it appears, there will be quite a lot of people at the event. I certainly hope that the weather works in our favor. In 1997,I attended the Oldsmobile 100th Anniversary and there was something in the vicinity of 2100 cars that were registered. I am sure that as July 23 draws closer,we'll certainly have just as many cars registered. As planned,I'll be taking my frame off '70 Stage 1 out there(with the help of Doug Hecker)in Doug's enclosed trailer.See you all in Flint!:)

Hey Carl, there won't be anymore cars in the show, registration cutoff was July 1, what isn't registered we will see will be in the parking lots! See you soon, please have a safe trip, RV

  13. Roberta, wasn't there to be a car raffle, or is that for a different Buick event? I don't recall for sure... You were going to post info when it was finalized.

    Ah Yes!

It's not part of this event but the cars are supposed will be there, sometime, I thought, but it's not on their schedule. Here's the info:
    Easter Seals Buick Raffle

The GS is a 455, 1 of 18 with a 3-speed belonged to Dick McDonald of Alpena, MI. Won 1st Place in '70-72 GS Convertibles at the GS Nats a couple of times!

  15. THANKS!! I've been wondering if this was happening or not. I am in! :TU:

    NEW INFO!

There are 1700 cars registered for the show! And 37 for the race at Milan Dragway, although more cars will show up, I'm sure as this is an open Buick Race Day, the track will open at 10:30 AM, and we will be racing from Noon to 4 pm. Show up at the track before Noon, with a Buick powered car and $25 to race and $5 to watch and you are in! IHRA rules will most likely be enforced by the track! Email me if you have any questions. Hi Roberta,I forgot that July 1 was the deadline for the event.Well looks like we're all registered and will be in the show field. How are the classes being broken down? Are there going to be separate parking lots for the different years? And the most important question of all-how is the security going to be taken care of with all the $$$$ all over the place? Thanks Roberta, and looking forward to seeing you soon! :TU:

HI Carl, They will be displayed by year in different areas of the grounds of the Flint Cultural Center which includes the Sloan Museum and Buick Gallery and Research Center, both which will be open free of charge during the event.

There are over 112 vendors occupying nearly 250 swap spaces.

There will be round the clock security both at the Cultural Center and the trailer parking area. Check out some of the discussions on the BCA Website and General Discussion Forum which will help reinforce what I've said here. Also on the main page are links to maps, directions and list of times events etc. See ya soon. RV:beer :bglasses:
