    Hey guys,

The top on my car doesnt like to set level while down. Drivers side doesnt seem to go all the way down, so when I lift the top the thing binds up because that side has a head start on the other. What adjustments can be made? The cyl are new and where bled as per this sites instruction (no air anywhere)
    Any help would be great!

What's happened to the top frame?? Ever rack it accidentally by forgetting to unlock a latch or something and then trying to lower it? (I have too, don't be embarrassed)

No cant say that I ever did that, since I have owned it but who knows about what the other owners did, I know its in the frame now, I tested the hyd cyl by switching them from side to side and the problem stayed in the same place, I also mesured the distance between two points on each side and found that they are different by .750 of a inch. This must allow one side to get a jump on the other. Time to take it to the top shop Im afraid.

I'm told that adjustments can be made to the frame, but I don't know how to do it- I assume the roof must be off for at least some of the adjustments:Do No:

Near the pivot point of the top frame (back by the cylinders) there is a flat bar, maybe 3/4" wide and 1/8" thick, bolted to the part of the frame that is bolted to the car. This has a serrated surface where it bolts on, and can be loosened and adjusted. It is connected through all of the "scissors" that run over the frame rails, and controls how high and how far forward the top frame goes.

Hopefully someone can help you on the pic--I haven't had a convert for like 4 yrs now. :(
I don't know if that adjustment is included in the Fisher Body Manual or not, but everytime I have mentioned it, no one has ever heard of it before. When I found it, there were suddenly choruses of angels singing from heaven! It is like magic!

I know the exact spot he is talking about as I have to make this same adjustment of my top as well, but I have to remove the fabric on mine to do it. I will take my camera out tonight and shoot a couple pics of it for ya.

Hey Mark, as promised, heres that pic. Its kinda hard to see, but you will see a slotted area with a bolt going through it. Loosen that bolt, and you should be able to adjust the top. Good Luck!
