Darn good suggestion too. I haul a 5x8 utility trailer w/my 2000 4 cyl. Camry beater car. Trailer only weighs 300 lbs. empty & has almost 2000 lb. GVWR although I've rarely fully loaded it. Car IIRC is rated to pull 3500 lb. although I wouldn't. I have a 4WD F-250 Diesel & honestly I prefer the car/trailer & unless hauling a heavier load or car trailer, I'll take the car every time (& with good winter tires also prefer it to the 4WD truck in snow).

This is going to & coming back from the 2021 Nationals (700 miles ea. way & over the mountains) & the car is packed too. Had the roof rack delivered to the Hotel just in case & didn't need it (just just trailer spare on it) but also didn't have any room to take it back so had to install it. Nothing that went down came back. Took same setup on my parts run up to New England last weekend.

I'd take the $ they're willing to give right now for the Charger & get a beater/trailer until the market settles out. Rent a pickup from U-Haul if you need one for a day. I saw recently where Enterprise even had a RAM 2500 for rent 20210515_130459.jpg 20210512_191058.jpg

Pulled the trigger over the weekend. Picked up a 2021 RAM Laramie. Got it for a little below MSRP but they gave me a good deal on my trade in. First truck I've owned, rides really nice, not the pep of the 6.4L Hemi I had but the 5.7L Hemi is pretty good.

    Thanks for everyone's input.

And I'll be using this to pull the Buick to GS Nationals in the coming years.

The truck market is nuts right now. A customer of mine trade in his 2020 3500HD L5P High-Country on a 21 GMC Denali 3500HD L5P dually and was given (on paper at least) 16k more than what he paid for the 2020. Some entrepreneurial folks with their dealer’s license are buying brand new GM trucks at high-volume dealers and turning around and flipping them at Manheim for profit. At least for now and at least in certain situations, some new vehicles aren’t dropping $10k in value as soon as you drive off of the lot, and maybe the opposite is true.
