Question on a 1970 GS The trim tag say Farmington MA but the Vin has OZ that’s a California LA car why are they different did the prep the body in MA and ship it to LA? Thanks for any clarification on this
Flint transported the bodies by truck from the Fisher Plant to the Buick Assembly Plant on the other side of town. I believe in Fremont the bodies were made by Fisher, then slipped thru a hole in the wall into the Final Assembly plant that was next door. I don't know how it was done at Framingham, but there are a few guys on here that worked there and would know. I would be very very wary of this car. Duane
This is the tank sticker it doesn’t say California or anything else on where it was assembled but it shows the vin in the corner
It does say Body number BF00461 on the tank sticker I removed when we dropped the gas tank That BF00461 is on the trim tag I guess I’m just confused on how to read the trim tag
I’ve know the second owner forever he got the car in the 1970’s on the west coast car has never been wrecked, he didn’t have any kids and sold me the car when he retired I posted pictures of the tank sticker as well not sure why you would say be “very very wary” if the car ?
The reason being is that final assembly was in California and the body was made clear across the country in Baltimore
Thank you all for the help you all are great! my confusion trying to Google stuff on line and just Got all confused
