Whats the total quarts needed to refill the transmission after a filter change? Cant seem to understand the book saying 3 qts after converting from pints seems like it would take more then that. Anybody know?

Couldn’t measure what it had in it the old gasket was completely thinned and hardened to the pan so it leaked most of it out. I put a new pan and filter on and put what I read from a few people said of stock refill was 5qts. If that’s too much I can drain a little out with the plug on the pan.

Put a couple qts in and start the car. run through the gears and check in Park. Add as needed

It's about 4 qts. That being said, you should put 2 quarts in, start the engine, then fill until the level is 1/4" BELOW the full line on the dip stick. As the fluid gets hot, it expands to the full line. Don't over fill.

I replace the radiator so whatever I lost was replaced besides the amount in the pan.
