towing with a towbar

I need to move a 65 A-body frame about thirty miles. I have a towbar and lights and I am thinking of towing it with all four wheels on the ground. Seems to be some concern among the people I have talked to that it won't track behind my truck without the body weigh. The engine and transmission are in the frame so there is some weight on the front wheels.

Update: Ok, I read my previous post and I was asking about pulling the whole El Camino 90 miles. Now the frame is at the local community college auto shop and they are redoing all the rubber parts, adding disc brakes to the front and checking all the important stuff. I would install good tires and rims before towing the frame, but I am concerned that it might not track as well as a whole vehicle.

BTW, as soon as I get the frame home and freshen or change the tranny and engine I will be lifting my nice Elky body onto the redone frame. This will free up a 1965 Skylark GS four speed chassis that is under the Elky. :)

    Thanks, Kurt
