If I can arrange a ride, I'll be there.

There's some info on the show on the SoCal GS website:

    www.socalgs.com

The member of the BCA who put the event together is also a SoCal GS member.

    On the prowl...

    Dan,
I'll be coming down after an early brunch in Anaheim.
If you're between there and Tustin then I could swing by and get you. :TU:
    Let me know.

    Skip,
    I feel your pain.
If you come up what will you be bringing so I'll know where to look? :Do No:

I'm hoping to have my 'cat ready to bring there tomorrow :Brow: but don't expect any miracles.
If I do bring it then it might even get a bath first.
if not, then look for "carmen" my Electra. :bglasses:

    No Cars

The only car with finished paint at the shop is Mike's and it has no plates, so I will just drive my truck up. Dan lives down here by me and will come with me if I go. I'll just be passing out business cards and looking at the cars.

    OK,
I washed most of the fleas off of the kitty but she's still not lookin' to pretty. :gt:
Not nearly as nice as before she went hibernating. :ball:
Now the paint lost most of it's shine when the water dried off of it.
With the dirt gone the extent of the damage is even more obvious.
There's overspray left all over it from my former neighbor's body shop. :af:
Oh well, I was planning on a repaint anyways and now it looks as if that will happen sooner now.
That brunch that I was supposed to be attending has been cancelled so that means I'll be able to show up early :Brow: and scout out the parts section for bargains.
I'll look forward to meeting up with Skip & Dan and the rest of the O.C. BCA clan. :beer :bglasses:

Actually Skip is in the BCA, not me. However the 2 of us as well as the event coordinator (Larry Minery, also BCA) are all of the Southern California Gran Sport club (GSCA Chapter).

    Pretty funky hehe.

    Hope to meet ya there.

    Oh Cr@p!

I was all ready to run down to Tustin in my 'cat and look around for you guys but I had a little problem....
When I went out this morning to start it up, I saw the puddle of fuel that had been forming under my gas tank since I got back from filling it up last night. :eek2:
It seems that either the vent or the return hose had sprung a leak that I didn't notice. :af:
That is, untill I filled the tank up for the first time in a long while. :gt:
There were no problems with it before last night's fill-up, it only had less than half a tank full.
To make matters worse, I left my Electra with my brother yesterday.
Of course, he was out driving it this morning when I called to have him bring it over. :stmad:
I hope the show was a good one. :(

Ah, too bad you didn't make it.
    Lots of Wildcat's there.
So Cal GS members won 3 awards (and a fourth went to a former member who actually showed up to the event wearing his club t-shirt!)

About 60 cars in the show, I'd say half or more were pre 1960 but all were in great shape! There were 2 '71 GS convertibles there as well! Some cars of mention were a 1909 Buick (won best Pre-War Buick, some wonder which war!) a 35 hot rod/custom with a nice flame job, a 39 Phaeton w/455 (I believe- won best modified) and several 30's and 40's as well as a good complement of 50's (a 55 Century won best post war).

If/when I get the film developed I'll post a few pics here.

Oh man, now I'm really bummin'.
My brother finally showed up with my car about 2-ish and by then all I wanted to do was kick his @ss :spank: for running off like he did.
Instead, I got my vent hose leaks all fixed so that I could drive the 'cat to work this morning. :bglasses:
The car thanked me by purging all of the air out of a tire. :Dou:
After work, when I walked out I found a flat waiting for me to get fixed.
