I was wondering the same thing about 3000 horsepower with existing heads, but I guess if you go with forced induction, it makes up for a lot. Nice job on the blocks :TU:

    BTW "aluminum porn" that's great!

I'm friends with ken but hey buddy 3000 is WAY optimstic. The heads aren't going to support that even with a F-3 139. Head bolts and and over all head flow won't support it when Mikes drops the big heads on us in a few years then maybe. But even then it will be a reach.

Hi Bob, you're right, the heads TA will make still won't feed an alcohol car but they will take care of 98% of the Buicks which need them badly. I am still bent on making my own heads. To get close to that HP rating they will have to flow as good as the Hemi's. I've talked to the people at Alan Johnsons group and Brad Anderson who will make their heads fit for a price. We sent bolt patterns back and forth until I realized I could make a head that looks like a Buick some what for a lot less. With a solid block I can go bigger on head studs also. 540 CFM is easy to get when you don't need water jackets We are working around pushrods but I don't have to have siamese intake ports either. I have other projects up front but this won't be on the back burner. You know how long things take. Thanks for all you do for Buicks, keep me up to date on yours. kenny betts

They'd require a ton of porting but they'd be your best bet. Dad might be willing to sell a set, they're just sittin around doing nothing and will forever. :blast:

    :Dou:

it would be SO frustrating if the BBB moves back to an independent runner port set up before the 350 does....

Don't worry out there, Mike has no intention of making an IR head for the 455, that is something I would do on my own. thanks kenny betts

nevertheless, it would still have been done.

the irony is that the small block used to be an independent runner design, while the big block never was.

don't take me too seriously, i'm actually laughing about the idea.

Hey Bob no offense taken. We all come to the boards for news, info and to share ideas no matter how radical and to help others or just to put in our 2cents worth, which is a lot of fun. Keep up with any comments, it takes our focus off this messed up country. Thanks as always for your input. kenny betts

It may be easier to drill a Mopar bolt pattern on that deck and bolt these heads on.

The bore spacing is not that far off from a BB Chrysler and these heads will flow close to 500 cfm out of the box.

Interesting that you're going to bolt a hemi head to a Buick block. Sounds like a pretty cool bastard.

The hemi head is no longer on the table at this point, but we are still looking to build a solid head to bolt directly on the TA block, thanks, kenny betts

Rod, were you at the 06 and 08 Bowling Green meet. I was there but hung out with doug jones, ollie and dave benisek. I was looking thru my pics and could only find a front end shot of your car if it had a black center section on the hood. my 08 pics are on another computer I will look at later. Do you have any #'s on you heads. flow, valve size, volume. Which heads are you using. thanks, kenny betts

Rod; Are you running with water, or have you tried to fill the heads solid, just asking because I will probably have to build my own heads. We are trying to use parts that were never capable of what we want to do, but with love for buicks we don't accept those who say "YOU CAN'T MAKE THAT THING RUN" well many have proved the skeptics wrong and we will keep on trying. Why do all the big buick racers live on the other side of the country or why do I still live in California, thanks kenny betts

Hey Mr. Ray don't wait too long last I heard there were only about 6 left and now that every one knows you can walk into TA and walk out carrying an Aluminum race block the first run won't last long. The pics don't do this justice. I've seen a lot of race blocks but this is AWESOME! kenny betts
