I have Thermoquad and need to know wht size the fuel inlet is. It looks to be 3/8 FIP but I'm not sure. The stickers on top say Competition Series. The only # I can find on it are: On the top plate near the passenger rear side is 6-2012 and on the base plate on the rear drives side is EO 4847SA.

Another question, I compared the manifold gasket from my Q-jet off my 350 to the base of the Thermoquad and noticed that they have the same bolt pattern and it looks like the holes are the same. My intake manifold is for the Holley Sq bore so I need to get an adapter. I found one at Jegs that says for Holley to Thermoquad, I've also seen them Holley to Q-Jet. My question is do i need to get the one for the Themoquad or can I use one for a Q-Jey?

    Thanks in Advance :TU:

The 4847s TQ was an aftermarket carb only, and a number of different fuel inlet fittings were available.

This is a 1000 CFM carburetor and is quite useful for SERIOUS horsepower!

As to the manifold, I am firmly convinced that a manifold will support either a spread-bore carburetor or a square-bore carburetor; never both. I am also firmly convinced that the square to spread adapter (or viceversa) is useful for a paperweight only!!! To properly use the 4847s carburetor, use a manifold designed for a spread-bore. Using the adapter on a square bore manifold should effectively reduce the CFM of the 4847s from 1000 to about 750, but it is your decision.

    Others may have differing opinions.
