Buick flows thru their viens. I had seen them at a couple car shows in the past two years but always thoiught their Husbands drove the Rivieras to the shows.
But today I watched the Four Riverias drive down the street from the gate and it was all woman drivers.

Later Kare and I took fliers to hand out to Buick owners for Buicks on the Bricks next Saturday and met the ladies.
there were very nice and told us how their dad had taught them to love Buicks and how after he passed Mom gave them each one or the money to buy one for each.

The forth one is the light blue on behind in the last picture.

We plan on meeting again next Saturday in Flint Mi on water street.

    Nice story:)
So all 4 are sisters? Are they 71's or 72's or mixed? I can only tell if I see the louver's on the deck lid.
They all seem to buy the huge mud flaps:cool:

Yes they are all sisters but had the mother with them at the show yesterday. I believe they were a mix of 71/72's. Never asked them about the years, mostly talked about the Buicks on thre Bricks to see if they would come.

Even our Buick had mud flaps on it. You live on a Michigan gravel road and that is what was done to save the rocker panal paint.

I will see them next Saturday and hopefully get more of the story and they will have all 4 of them there.
One was missing because it was having fuel issues. she had taken it to a car wash (quarter type) wouldn't idle and quit. Had a hard time starting it. Pulled a picture of dad out and asked him to get it started and it did so she could drive it home.

    Spooky:eek: but I believe it!
I have the little tiny metal flaps on my 82 Regal. Not as protective but helped.
Looks like you took yours off..

Yes I removed ours when we took it to get painted. I now Just piss off the speed demons on the road and drive the mile and a half at about 25 MPH. when they start to pass I just pull as far right as I feel comfortable with and stop till the dust settles and rocks stop flying.

    Question for the Riv owners.
Do they have a fuel tank acess plate in the trunk under the mat for the fuel gauge sender replace or repair?

One of the cars I believe the brown with the dark vynal top has a fuel gauge that only shows full. Told her it may have a acces plate but was most likely a fulty sender unit sticking.

Those are some big extra bumper guards!
How could you tell the blue was a 73? The smaller vinyl top?

    Nice now the images work:)
As a teen I bought a 73 Riv, sunroof car but it was missing as it was recovered stolen. I "think" it had a full vinyl, I drove it for years and my memory is getting bad:D
I still have the front emblem up top that went above the grill. When I junked my cars I always kept a emblem or something from it..It's actually in good shape and just some of the black paint it faded..
If you have a 73 it's yours for free.. It has to be original as no one I would think made repro's in the early 80's..

Wow that blue 73 is a nice one.:)
There was basicly no headroom in the rear seat on a non sunroof car but i'm guessing the factory sunroof option took 4 or 5 inches more away??
A friend of mine is 5' 3" and I think that was the limit to any back seat head comfort.

    A couple original emblems.

Good to know, always like learning even the small details:)
Your profile is blocked and was looking to what Riv or Riv's you own. This 73 is yours i'm assuming. Is it a right hand driver?

    Nice,
The 67 Riv right hand drive showed the engine bay. Everything on the 430 is a standard US based setup and the master cylinder also. So it has to be bracketed system below the dash or behind the engine for the brakes, throttle steering to work??

    Cool,
I never even thought of the wiper movement difference..
Has to be a bit sloppy steering wise even though someone claimed it was a heavy duty swap setup??

The sisters arrived at the water street parking lot altogether but anothe Rive simular to theres slid in a parking slot so the forth was not parked with them.

One sister told me they didn't arrive with out miss hap. The dark brown one had a noise under the hood. they stopped lifted the hood and had a small fire on a belt. A guy that was withthe group used a knife to cut the belt and remove the fire.

    Belt was the compresser belt.

Well I figured the compresser froze up but don't think from what she told me it was out of freon.
She said it was putting out cold air when the noise started under the hood.

The above picture was posted else where by Cutlass 1.

I took my own of them seprate but haven't got mine up loaded yet as out INP was down for a long time yesterday 3:00 AM to after 11:00 PM when I went to bed last night.
