I know my 1972 Stage1 is a bumper to bumper numbers matching car, but every once and awhile I find a pleasant surprise that reconfirms the authenticity of this 1 of 627 Stage1 cars built in 1972. Actually my 1972 car was built on November 24, 1971 and I have the Sloan Docs to prove that. I also have the door Vin sticker with the date of build. The other day I opened my Ram Air air cleaner to inspect my filter and got a surprise.....an 11/16/71 stamp inside the cleaner base. WOW, one more confirmation of a genuine #s car. Has anyone else seen one stamped like this on their car?
The pic with the numbers and dealer name on it. what is that? is that a sloan document or some other sort of document. I have an extremely original 72 gs455 Id like to get somnething like that for. I will have my car at BPG its the ugly butternut yellow car with the crappy enamel repaint courtesy of the early 90s, but otherwise very original, including all the smog equipment and AC which both work.
I resemble that "ugly" butternut color. ou::spank::laugh: I will have my gorgeous butternut yellow 65 Gran Sport at BPG. I will be driving it down this year, and the AC also works. :3gears: <- needs one more gear.
I appologize i wasnt callin the color ugly i was calling my car ugly because of the crappy enamel paint job on it.
No worries mate. :TU: This color needed to grow on me, as yellow is not on my favorite colors list, unless it's Saturn Yellow. :beers2:
