Its like a fine wine or a brandy. As you roll it around in your mouth you can pick up the hints of the different ingredients. LOL

We call it "that Buick smell". Both of our 67's have that smell. The unrestored one is more previlant, while the one with all new interior has a very faint smell of old Buick. It brings back all the memories when i smell it. I was 4 or 5 (40 now) when my pops got the Skylark from my grandpa. So i have a lifetime of memories associated with it.

Opened the door of the 85 I've been working on and it makes me think of old lady.

I just popped open the door of the Street Sleeper, stuck my mug in there and was slapped in the face of the second best scent on earth, and Then I recalled this thread I started...bump to the top for the scent of a woman.....

Which part of a woman. They have different stank depending on where your nose is. Was setting in the barber shop a few days ago waiting for my turn and there was a cute spanish girl with 2 little kids a few chairs down. They smelled like ass. First I thought it was the boy waiting for his turn. He got into the chair and the stank was still there. Then the little girl went over to the play area. Nope. Boy got done with his cut, they all got up and out the door. Stank went with her.

I had my front and rear bench recovered and they were in great shape, just nasty covers. I did enhance the old springs and padding but made sure to leave the old burlap in as I knew it was a source of the stank. My upholstery guy I’ve known for over 35 years laughed but obliged me. Also all the door / sail panels and headliner are original and they still emit that beautiful aroma...

My convertible has the same aroma as the first convertible I bought as a 15-year old. It’s unmistakable, can’t be duplicated, and absolutely comforting. Just like my perfect woman.

Bringing the dank stank thread back up. Just popped the door open and hopped in the ole hot rod and the smack in the face of the old stank reminded me of this thread.

Friend of mine swears by this Ozone generator. Says it'll remove smokers smell from interiors.
He says 16 to 18 hours of treatment and you'll have the new car smell back.
    I kindof doubt it....

How to Do an Ozone Shock Treatment on a vehicle.

Regular methods of cleaning and deodorizing a vehicle are not always enough. Pet and cigarette odors are particularly difficult to remove because smelly chemical compounds can penetrate deep into the upholstery and padding. An ozone shock treatment will send pure ozone (O3) deep into every crevice, destroying these odorous compounds that could not be washed away. Car rental companies use these generators on a regular basis to remove smoke and pet odors.

Sources of the Stank. Fiberglass behind kick panel blowing mouse tainted fiberglass in your face through the vents. Also the inevitable most nest in the heater box made with back seat stuffing.
