I agree, I've had great dealings with TA. And dont forget that free tech advice some of us might need. Ive worked with Tim and Mike over the phone many times and they always wanted to answer all my questions and advise me on the best engine combos ,ect.. Dont forget those other vendors with low quality products, Or who take your money and close down like Poston Buick did to some members. Its not a perfect world and
S**T happens. Mike is doing the best he can. I'll stick with TA. "Peace"

I will buy them, as I've said in a past post. And again, I have 2 cans of the Duplicolor that I had brought in for you, paid for it, and are now just sitting here waiting for you to call because we can not get a hold of you. We have left messages for you. The only reason you are loosing any money here is because of the choice you are making. I have tried to make this right and in turn have endured other comments. What has this thread been about? Some of you folks feel you have been managed poorly. Well, the gentleman who started it says:

"Does anyone want to buy six cans of Krylon red Buick paint???"

Just don't seem able to do good.
I hope my writing does not make any of you feel I'm angry, I'm just disappointed and lost on what to do.

You could always rent out the building, sell the inventory and equipment and try to make up valuable lost time with your family. :(

    Mike,
No need to feel lost on what to do. Youve addressed all the pressing matters concerning this thread, take what feedback youve received and apply it to make TA even better. I personally appreciate the fact that you have directly addressed much of whats been said here in a constructive way which can be hard to do sometimes. Some people you can make content by fixing situations, some you cant. Youve taken something youre passionate about and turned it into your business. Unfortunately that comes with some pitfalls. But dont take it overly personal, just use it constructively and we'll all benefit. Keep up the great work on your products, apply what feedback youve heard here and loom at it as business insight and not as personal attacks, and keep goin fast with class. Have a great weekend!

I'll get off my soapbox now....

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

you can look at this many ways ....

... over 5,000 views for just some cans of paint ?

Or, how will TA take care of my big purchase if they can't get the little ones right ?

I have a friend who owned a niche business very similar to Mike and TA. He was the sole provider/importer of hi-end gear not available any where else in the US. He personally went overseas and secured distribution rights from the manufacturers to sell their goods here ... and the stuff was so far beyond what was available that everyone who wanted to be competative had to buy from him.

Problem was ... he wasn't the easiest to deal with, nor was his staff. On that hobby related web board he'd constantly get blasted for his companies poor customer support, but, people still bought from him because to be competative they had to have the best and he was the only game on this continent that could provide the goods.

Well, a bunch of deep pocketed individuals got together, went abroad and talked to the manufacturers - turns out they didn't like him either but loved the $$$. They struck deals, and when his contract was up they got the distribution rights and set up shop ... that was 7 or 8 years ago and EVERYONE who buys from them is greatly satisfied because their business model was set up on 2 principles - provide the best product, and provide the best service both pre and post sales.

My friend floundered for a while with other non-contest oriented goods but China then caught up to the niche cottage industry manufacturers and now he is out of business. What he used to buy for $50 and sell for $80-$100 is no available from China for under $10. At one time, about 15 years ago, I opened up the dialog to purchase his business and he had it evaluated at a worth of over 3 million - now he has nothing, because of basically the same thing - not providing exemplary customer service for every sale - both pre and post - regardless of the $$$ amount.

Mike - My analogy above isn't to make you or TA sound like you dont care, but I thought it relevent enough to type. I wish you much success in the future - BigRed would not be what it is today without you ... the thousands and thousands of miles I've driven it and all the enjoyment I've gotten is a direct result of your hard work.

    Thank you ...

This is what happens on the internet , one little thing turns into a big deal because everyone has to input their opinion . I'm sure we all have bought car parts and when they arrived they were wrong and we had to send them back and sometimes pay the shipping . whats the big deal ? get over it geez...

    Hello Mike Tomaszewski,

First of all, I would like to apologize for not getting back to you. I have not been tuning into this thread much at all and that is my mistake. Mike I appreciate you bending over backwards to make this all right and for that you have earn much respect from me. You didn't have too since it's been so long and I've not contacted TA since late Sept. early Oct.
I MISSED your post about the duplicolor paint you are holding for me an offering to get those red krylons back. Again, I'm sorry I have dropped the ball and not checked into this thread. I really didn't think it would flame like this. I was venting and frustrated and all the while I'm moving to Montana, selling all my extra Buick stuff, renting my house, changing jobs and when I had this issue it was just too much. I will say I did over react and I appreciate the fine work you've for me in the past. The parts have been stellar and up until the issue with the paint, the service has been fine.
Call me at 406.281.2394. I will also try to contact you via this forum.
Also I have the case of paint in the storage unit here in Montana, so I'll have to go get them. I haven't touched the cans and are still in the original box and packing.

The last remark I made about someone buying the red paint was intended to lighten the mood of this thread. again sorry about missing your offers to make it good, you've already done that by trying to do just that!

Again Mike, I thank you and I really appreciate how hard you have worked to make this all good and sorry about not checking in and responding to your offer; my bad.

    Thank you!

I'm going to ask Jim W. to lock this thread. Mike has done more than what was required to make this all right. He didn't have to go get the right paint, and he has tried above and beyond to make it good. Which in my opinion he has done so and much more.
Forgive me for my rantings originally, I have been under some unusual life stress these past few months and having bad customer service at TA was the "straw" that broke the camel's back per say.
Like I said in my earlier post, I will continue to buy from TA whether they are the only source or one of many.
    Thank you Mike T. !!!
