Well if anyone has paid attention to this and you want to know the time frame on when the heads will be done go back and read the first 10 pages of this.

Did you think it was going to take this long?

    How's that for a timeframe.

10 years right now, how many of those first posters on the first pages are still in this.

At 60 years old, it is getting harder to go out and wrench on the car like it was 10 years ago. I figured maybe this project will take 5 years but 10! Man that is a long time.

But, the SP3 is great so far so good still have to take it out to really flog at the track. The engine did go past 6200 with a cam that gave up basically at 5900 rpm with the old intake.

I have been on here for over 10 years (2004) and ALL of the 350 guys are ASKING for 350 parts, I don't get where TA is saying no one is calling them and asking for parts.

That's because they are right here asking for it! This site has been running for almost 15 years now this is where we go for new developments.

and obviously the motor can take some abuse since mine has been in there for over 20 years now and has ran a 125 shot of nitrous and is still holding up, That Was in 2005!

That is after going to the rev limiter at 6200 with the nitrous on out of first gear I kept it floored and shifted, What would you do I was racing a Mustang at the time!

So why we have no heads yet for this beast is beyond me, this should have been done 5 years ago. The motor rocks, and how many of these 350's are still in the junkyards now. Just have to build a Aluminum block.

This is what happens when you go back on these old Sticky threads and find out how old they really are. You get a little ticked off.

Lots of these things should have been done years ago and it is not TA's fault, for some reason no one wants to give this motor it's due, especially from the aftermarket.

Knowing the potential of these motors, with turbos and the introduction of the al. heads, we developed a 350 billet girdle. Produced 6 of them 2 years ago and have 1 left. Another run will be made when we get 5 more orders.
Years ago a friend named Sonny ,Tweety fame, ran 11.02 with a full weight GS with a 350. A lot of head work and a trick chevy intake, the ports are close to a buick head. He made an adapter plate to match the two.Spun it to 7000 with no problem.

We've been extremely backlogged keeping up with day to day operations so new product development has suffered. The pattern maker is incorporating changes to the 350 head pattern so we can start a production run. The program to machine the heads is more or less done, it will just need a few tweaks for the new castings.

    Take your time;)
I'll run my irons, and try to get better at the track.
Then next year, run aluminums and see the difference;)

  15. I'd be a little unhappy if I was one of the people who paid 50% down to get on the list and it kept getting pushed back like this. I'm interested in the heads but I'm not paying a penny until they are available and ready to ship

As far as I know I am the only one with $ down on the heads and TA never asked for the money up front. I just wanted to ensure I was at the top of the list once they became available.

Sure it is frustrating but we know in the end it will be done right. It’s not like they are going to make a ton of $ on these heads, it will take a long time to pay off the research and development costs..

I had been feeling like TA was not supporting the 350 much however by taking on these heads they proved that they really are going to help us out.

Things have came a long ways in the past few years... For instance TA worked to get us affordable connecting rods, and the SP-3 intake sure is a nice addition to a high revving 350.

The good thing is that there are still a bazillion 350's out there running in cars. I actually think they might outsell big block heads at some point.

Very possible, seeing as the 455 was standard only in Electra, Riviera, Centurian and the fullsize wagons.
Optional in Lesabre, and GS, and Regal (kinda rare)
The 350 was standard in GS, LeSabre, most Regals, Century's, Skylark

  19. I was sure i read in this thread that TA wanted 50% down to put a person on the list. my mistake if that is not correct

  20. i guess it was in the update thread but i knew i read it somewhere
