The prototype is done and they were testing it on Mike Jrs car and then the engine suffered damage and needs to be rebuilt... They will not produce the intake till they can test it....

Yes that's what's supposed to happen. I figured he would have had that done already.

Ok.....it's now 2016.....any updates on the aluminum heads?

How about a teaser picture of them? Even if it's the prototype stuff.....

Would like to see these soon, so we can order them...complete with roller rockers, and oversized valves.

I have pics of the prototype 350 heads but I cannot post them...

Call Ta and get on the list, I was the first to secure my heads with a deposit... Then you know you will get them asap.

I think a month or two till the heads are released...

Ordered the SP3 intake yesterday, and asked about the heads....more delays now.

The last I heard there was still some work to do but no mention of any significant delays... I'm sure they won't be much longer.

"Engine lost power each pull because it was hurt". Doesn't sound like anything to do with the rotating assembly, since that would make a lot of noise under those conditions, if not destroy the block altogether. That's Mike Jr.'s engine with the huge roller cam in it, 232/232 duration with .602 lift and 113 LSA, if memory serves. I wonder if it had anything to do with insufficient spring pressure and lifter slapping the lobes, eventually causing it to wipe the cam? I hear those needle bearings really do a number on the rest of the engine's bearings when they're turned loose in the oil system.

    Anyway, just speculation.

I think someone said here on the forums that the new aluminum heads were going to use the stock valve spacing, so there shouldn't be delays regarding the calculations involving that. The closed chamber design for quench shouldn't be too difficult. What's left? I suppose runner size and shape, which CSA is best suited for oversized valves, etc. would be my guess. They have somewhat of a challenge to overcome to get the heads to flow much past .400 lift, if they were to use the iron head as a foundation and work their way up from there.

    Again, speculation.

Just wanted to share some thoughts.

Hi Gary, in talking with Mike JR he was saying it was the rod bearings that they had an issue with but they did not know why...

I know the head design is complete... They did tell me that it will be a target of 54 CC for the volume so that helps us prepare for them.

I am sure they will be fantastic, I am excited!! Wish I could share the pics but I was sworn to secrecy.

Quote from TA about the heads:

"Tooling is almost ready to go to the foundry for first proto types. Once they are casted, we will need to write cnc programs and fixture them to machine them which can take another month."

Rod bearings eh? I guess I was wrong then.

Sounds like everything's coming right along. I don't mind about not seeing the pictures. I wouldn't want you to breach any trust placed between you and TA. I have a few secrets of my own, so I can dig it. :)

Soon enough there will be plenty of eye candy and comments ensuing. It is very exciting times for our beloved Buick 350!

Cheers my brother. Hope you and your family are doing well.

    Folks,
Finally I can say the 350 cylinder head tooling is at the foundry. We will be casting at least 5 first article heads to be evaluated. Machining fixtures and CNC programms still need to be completed. When we have a casting I will get pictures posted.
