Derek, I'm just trying to see if i can help in any way, keep your panties on dude. I have worked with some very high end people to know what to do and I have told Mike at TA about them, now here is the problem $$$$$$$ has anyone wanted to donate any cash to help out or are u one of those guys and stand there and wait for new products to come out? Atleast I'm willing to give some calls to some people for a better price on casting so you don't have to spend high dollar for ok parts and need work! My point here is this, what other places have ta contacted to make your hatd earn mony go farther? I did work for a machine shop and brought in Mahle pistons, Pro-Filer performance and many other top end people to help drop the cost to our customers. Damn, My machince shop held races to bring in money even car shows. For example I bet Pro-Filer performance would make a deal with ta on casting majority of his parts for the fraction of the price he is at now. its called bundling and I see a lot on here doesn't even know much about business ? I'm not a wizard on business but I'm not stupid either! Here is my question to you Derek, what are you willing to do to help TA besides just buy there parts?

Simple, ask if he has a $8000.00 C.F.D. program that would show him something simpler and cut his cost by half? I promise his answer is no! Ask him if he or he sent anyone to Darin Morgan's three day school that even NASCAR AND NHRA cylinder head gurus has attended to learn more then they ever learned in class at this price $950.00? I bet the answer is no! Yes, I have talked with mike on the phone for an hour each time I have called. I even call Sonny's racing engines and talked to Sonny him self about having to consult with Mike about new cylinder heads, both 455 & 350! Did he even call one of then grea test cylinder head people in the nation? I betcha he didn't! But I'm the bad guy? Really? I'm told mike I was willing to attend Darin's school and Joe Mondello's cylinder head porting school and come there to work! What have you done now?

Mike, told me this intake is not a all out race intake and it was attended for folks that w ant their hood to close. and have no interference. I understand that point but even the modest person in here even said it needs a turtle to function rt! Why wasn't that addressed before casting? That's what I'm getting at! Yes there could be major improvements but you all want the hood thing, there is nothing wrong with that and applaud mike for making a such intake, I hope it works wonders and yes I plan on doing a 350 & 455 Buick in the very near future. I wont be racing in no sanction races only at No ET events! Yes I'll probably get my but handed to me in that races but atleast I'll be representing Buicks....

So you're sitting on the sidelines throwing stones at a company that has and continues to provide quality Buick performance parts for decades to people actually doing things? Man, you've got a lot of nerve! If Mike needs any business help or help designing parts from you, he'll call. If not, give it a rest! I'm not sure how this is allowed to continue.

I am thinking 1.50 Wilson tapered spacer with a new fiberglass cowl hood plus the 1/2 in nitrous spacer. How do we know that there is not another more race oriented intake in the thought process at TA. Maybe that will be the SPX4. This thing has really blown up here. I hope the intake sells as much as the talk here. The start of aluminum heads!

    Hi everyone.
I have not been on here in a while. TA thank you very much for doing an intake for the 350. It has been a log wait and you have come trough for us who needs a little more rpm out of the 350. Remember guys and gals that if you run more rpm to give the valves more spring pressure to control the valves.

TA will there be 2 versions, one for fuel injectors machined and one for carbs? Or will they be machined with plugs for carbs?

I run a dodge dragpak with the fuel injection from BigStuff and would like to play with the fuel injection on my 350 Buick just for grins. PS: The Dodge went 9.01 at 148.6 mph. Got the tuneup figured out! It should work well on the 350 Buick also.

    Over and out

You are NOT helping in any way posting here what you post. If Mike wants your help that should be between you and Mike and not try to shame him into listening to you by posting here which will do the opposite I would assume.

TA isn't looking for "donations" the best way to support TA is to buy their products. Did you offer donate TA $$$$$$$$ for their projects? I'm sure if you paid them enough they might humor you and listen to your nonsense.

And your suggestion of contacting Pro-Filer to do TA's castings wouldn't save any $$$ at all, actually it would cost more because P/F doesn't even do their own castings so going through a middle man P/F will want their cut. I actually know this because I was looking into making sbb aluminum heads before TA said they were committed to doing them, so no I guess I'm not "one of those guys and stand there and wait for new products to come out". I may not be much help to TA(and I'm sure they don't want my or anyone's help), but I will help the Buick community if I can, what products are you going to offer to the Buick community?(besides lip service!)

And again what makes you think TA wants or needs ANYONES help?!?! The only help TA wants is that people buy their products.

Why are you posting here about TA's business and the products they make? Is it because you like to name drop, because you certainly do a lot of that. You handle should be namedroppinposer !

Gary's MO (modus operandi) has been the same since he joined almost five years ago. There's been nothing of projects, progress, etc., just spouting half-butted theory and name dropping. How ironic his very first post really is:

There's no "win" here, except for the fact that TA has come through again as promised.

And for anyone interested, the resemblance of the new small block SP3 to the TA SP1 for the big block shouldn't be too surprising, but better yet...the new SP3 gets the "air gap"!

I run TA's original SP1 on my big block, purchased in the early '90's. I thought I could do better around 2008 for a new project, and purchased a used SPX which is more of an equal length runner manifold than the SP1. I should have saved my money. I learned soon after that from talking with the race guys that the differences between the two designs is negligible, even for the guys in the ten second arena. For what it's worth, porting and mods even in the plenum.

The runners on the four corners are longer for a reason, and it works wonderfully. We get a single plane with no drawbacks from an equal length runner design, plus a few benefits of a dual plane, that being a little torque spread between the separate cylinders. Kudos to TA for this.

I know I want to get one, I just may change the cam with it too. I really need the heads to go with all of it. But the intake will make me happy for now. I am sure Mike wants to get it as perfect as he can get it before putting it out there. It looks like he is trying to cover both the street and strip. But this can lead the way to an all out race intake too.

Depending on the damage to my current engine if the intake is released before spring I'll just do a top end build on my current motor and port the iron heads a little. That way i have something to play with for the season while I'm waiting for aluminum heads for the other motor. Would love to do a run or 2 with the dual plane then swap to the single plane. That would be a good reason for a track rental. Then I could try some qjet 800 vs holly 850 runs too...
