I believe you're a little "shy" on the price of a forged crank............Approximately $2200 for mine.

Oh well, no one is perfect.

Too much reading brand X catalogs and wishful thinking.

I think there is an overseas BBM crank forging made that could be made into a lessor expensive alternative for the factory block crowd. One of those should be priced under a grand, or right there for a short run. Even the overseas cast steel BBM crank made into a BBB crank would be a decent lessor expensive factory block alternative for the getting hard to find antique cranks. Would just need to have the dies or molds altered so the mains can be machined to 3.250".

You would be surprised at the cost of an overseas short run of 10 billet cranks would be. I may do a 10 crank run for the sbb 350 in the future if the white whale heads ever become available?

Yeah Mike, I share those same results. I've found my Tomahawk to be very forgiving of the occasional "oops"..... like free wheeling the motor and banging off the rev limiter at 8300. That happened two different times when planetary gearsets grenaded, and a few times due to other mistakes or what have you. As far as normal "under a load" conditions, I go through the traps at 8000 pretty much every time I make a run down the track.
You built a real stout piece and I, for one, thank you. 10 or 12 years ago I had a set of planetaries let go at Atco and the resulting free wheel to the 8000 limiter caused bearing damage to my 525" that manifested itself on the next pass a few weeks later at Cecil County. Boom.

So an opps over 8000 rpm, and more than ounce and the block says is that all you got! So that means more head is needed. The TA heads are your limiting factor. Mike, Will your new canted valve heads make your block groan a bit? I would think develop something that takes out the block, then dial it back a bit.

Well that's the plan. I like that "make it groan a bit". The patterns for the New TA Stage 6 "Wicked Wedge" head went to the foundry a week ago. Ordered 5 sample castings. Will post pictures when the casting gets here.

Holy monkey! Mike, you've already changed the game entirely with the block, bit those heads are gonna compliment it right into another stratosphere! Kudos Sir!
