About to replace the vinyl roof covering and the folding top portion on my Sun Coupe.
It's already had the top replaced at least once in it's past.
The vinyl I've removed has all been the stuff with the felt backing, but I'm unsure if this stuff is correct. The extra top parts I have are covered with non-backed vinyl.

So, should I use non-backed or backed vinyl?:Do No:

Never ever use that felt backed crap for anything. On the Suncoupe it will stretch too much. On hard tops it wicks moisture up to rust your roof.
Call Legendary to get the correct material. Like original material it stretches more in one direction than the other. Install it with the most stretch front to rear.

    That's what I suspected.
Fortunately I don't think it had been on the car very long. I've got the whole roof naked now, and have just about got all the old adhesive off the car, and haven't found any rust at all. I had already bought un-backed material from SMS, and didn't notice the difference until I started pulling the old stuff off the car and saw the felt.

Thanks for the info Steve. :TU:
