Strange Transmission?

    Hi! On a 1969 Special De Luxe there is "M31" on the Trim-Tag. Is it a ST300 or TH250? Thanks Chatarina

    The 200 series trans were not even on the market till 76......so there is no way it came factory in 69

    What trim tag are you talking? The transmissions trim tag? Or the cars trim tag?
    If this tag is on the trans...well anyone can swap trannys in and out.
    If it is the cars main build sheet / trim tag...??? That is ODD for sure maybe a typo?

    Here is the Trim-Tag on the car. Notice "M31" Sorry for the nearly upside down.

    I assume that from C50 and to the right is options.

    The only thing I can find is the THM250. That was a 3 speed lighter version of the THM350, but didn't come out until 1973? What is in the car now?

    So this is not the 68GS400? This is another car, a 1969 Skylark?

    No,thats my GS400 Conv. The 69 is a Special De Luxe. Helping a Facebookfriend with her car here in Sweden. Think it`s a V8 now but probably a 6-cyl from factory.

    THM 350 = 3speed, THM 300 = 2 speed

    M31= A THM250 from Chevrolet? Since the car had the Chevy 250-6 planted?

    It can't be a 250......that tranny didn't even exist in 69.......so it can't be that by the trum tag..........now it might have had one put in......but it wouldn't be on the tag

    Seems to me that we need more information. Just check the numbers on the transmission to see if it is original to the car. A few pictures would help.

    So what is a M31? Can you see by the V.I.N if the car had a 6-cyl or V8?

    Yes, 4 is Buick, 33 is Special DLX 6 cylinder.
