Strange Paint Code

    This 1964 Special Deluxe have on the Trim Tag: Paint RRA. Can understand the upper/lower RR but what is the A??

    The steel wheels; they were painted A (black).

    If you had full wheel covers, the steel wheels were painted black. If you had dog dish caps, they were either body color or black (some light colors weren’t matched on the wheels, presumably due to dirt).
    If the car a Fremont, California car? That plant more than any other put things on the trim tag like wheel color, option groups and build needs. They built Oldsmobiles and Chevrolets, too, so there’s a lot of explanation on the web from people decoding them.

    Even on the '70-72 Freemont tags, there's a lot more info. I wonder if anyone had tried decoding it all. Could be especially helpful on '71s.
