    To add to this;

    MY freind's 69 cutlass does not have the complete TVS system from Hotchkis. Just the sway bars, springs, and rear control arms (upper and lower). They are complimented with poly bushings everywhere, and KYB-GR2 shocks. The rest of the car is totally stock, and full interiored.

    Tires are 225/50R15 fronts, and 265/60R15's rear. Hard compound.

    We took the car out over the weekend with an accelerometer and it clocked the car at max 0.82 lateral G' before the cold tires started giving out. I think thats pretty radical.

    Remember the Z06 corvette was good for 1.0G and the ZR1 can do 1.1G with MUCH wider, stiffer and softer tires. :beers2:

    There are several things to try, including using the sway bar from a Skylark station wagon. You might alsdo try using urethane sway bar bushings, both at the ends and at the frame. This eliminates the compression rubber must experience before the bar becomes effective. This REALLY helps the transient response, like changing lanes, or swerving to avoid someone running a stop sign. Inexpensive, easy to install, and VERY effective. Ray

    Can I assume that 70-81 Camaro front sway bars will fit as well?

    All you really need is poly bushing kit for the front stock bar. About a 1 hour job. This will eliminate so much lean you will not beleive it and save a ton of cash to boot.

    Really, even thought the bar diameter is much smaller?

    Got a 1.25 sway bar off of ebay, from 78 trans am. Great price, nice bar. I do not have the brackets of bushings. Can I reuse my brackets? My existing bar is 1 inch. Where can I get right bracket and bushing for 1.35 bar??

    My local autozone has an assortment of sway bar brackets and bushings. They should have what you need

    Sumitt, Jegs, or your favorite speed shop. You can even get them in polyurethane if you like.

    Anybody have any experience with the rear sway bar kits from OPGI? They have a kit that allows you to box the lower control arms and add a 1" sway bar. The price is much lower than anything else I've seen. Is it a good set up or not worth the effort?

    I've got the OPGI bars. their fine pieces. When I picked up my kit they only included the bolts with the spacers that go in the arm. not a full boxing. You may want to call and verify that it includes http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?top...ewflag=0&VendorCode=&grpcode=11309&yearrange=

    you NEED to box the arms, not just the spacers to get the full advantage of the sway bar. If the kit comes with just the spacers you could just tack the spacers in the arm then weld on a piece of plate to the bottom of the arm.
    a factory boxed arm looks kinda like this http://www.opgi.com/nChevelle/KR00445.jpg

    hr parts n stuff 1.25 rear anti roll sway bar along with a hotchkis front 1.375 bar would make our a-bodies handle like they're on rails.

    Hellwig just came out with an adjustable rear bar for our A Bodies. It is tubular, so the weight is low, and it doesn't mount to the LCAs so no need to box them.
