    custom autosound spare tire woofer...have them in both of my stage 1 convertibles:Brow: , 70 and 72

    the frequency is so low it makes no difference if its behind a seat or not. subs do not distort if properly set up. what some kid has in a parking lot is not a good example of a proper system.

    The Custom Autosound spare tire powered subwoofer actually works well; I removed the cardboard from my vinyl tire cover which hides the subwoofer. A very neat. stealth installation. WAY more bass than rear well speakers, especially in a convertible with the top down. One issue that often occurs though, is cancellation of bass sound waves by the exhaust system pulses if your exhaust has low backpressure.:Brow:
