I have a 72 GS 455, but she wont start. I just drove her yesterday no problem, then i get back in to start an hour later and she doesn't fire. The engine turns just fine, but it seems as if there is no fire. I have adjusted the timing both ways to try to compensate. No fix... I just replaced the ignition coil, but it is still doing the same thing. Any tips on what i can do to fix this problem?
after you try and start it, pull a plug (any plug ...easiest to get at is fine) and see how wet with fuel it is
What type of distributor do you have? If it's points you probly need points, If it's an HEI it is probly the ignition module or pick-up coil, If it's an MSD could also be a magnetic pick up or if it's a unilight it is probly that module. P.S. If it has any Pertronix kit in it that is the problem. But check for voltage at the coil first.
