Will the muriatic acid totally remove the chrome? I soaked the trim for 20 minutes but it seems like there is still some chrome on it.

Try 30 minutes. Test it and run it on the polishing wheel. If it looks significantly different when hit it with the wheel, you have taken the chrome layer off.

Also consider this: I go through various grades of sandpaper on my trim before I start the polishing process. This will also help knock off any leftover chrome that I might not have removed with the acid. But it usually will do the trick just soaking it. Once in a while, I will see a touch of copper or some remnant of the chroming process.

Great Video Adam! I've had some luck with oven cleaner to remove the coating. I also do some sanding prior to polishing. If you've ever used a grinding wheel etc. you've experienced something fly through the shop, BE Careful!!! and good luck!

I can't get past the fact that it looks like your polishing room is also your kitchen. You know your wife is gonna freak when she sees that. :p

LOL! Craigslist freebies from folks remodeling kitchens....I use them to furnish my garages and shop with storage space.

If you only knew Adam's wife Atena. She would be the first one moving stuff off the counter tops to help him polish!!

Awesome timing. Was just thinking about this yesterday. Have a '70 lower grill molding w/a small dent to repair.
