    That is what they used when building the interior to the body shell at Fisher body. After the body was completed, it was sent to the Buick assembly line to get a frame, drive train, etc.

    My 71 was built in Flint not Fremont, so it varies a bit from yours. However I would guess is a partial body by Fisher build sheet. It lists the parts that must be installed accommodate the options ordered. For instance, the "transmission 38" is telling the builder it has an automatic TH350. The D 33 is telling the installer to mount a remote chrome outside rearview mirror, stuff like that. Fremont used a different code compared to the Flint plant, so I can't tell for sure what they all mean. The 73R:D could stand for the color of the vinyl top, so ...

    Now if you really want it decoded, I'm sure Duane can do it for you, but it doesn't come free. :cool: It takes a lot of time to research some of that info.

    Ok cool thanks! I have heard of Duane I write with Jim from Team Buick. But I have no idea we found him.
