Not unless you have a 1350 yoke on your driveshaft which is a worthwhile upgrade

    Stock for a 70 is a 3r iirc

Original Buick joints are 3R size.

You guys might wonder "boy why does he not just get the right yoke". So here is why: When I got my 200-4R transmission from eXtreme automatics unfortunately some parts have been lost during transportation. Amongst yoke, dipstick and others. Lonnie from extreme did not hesitate a second offering replacement at his expense. In order to ease his pain I offered him to ship the parts to a US address and that I will take them back to Germany with my luggage. That way he saves quite some $ avoiding cost for international shiping.
This week I am in US, leaving today. So my choices would be sending the yoke back to Lonnie and asking him to send the right one to Germany, or stick with the 1350 yoke and get the combination U-Joint (I planned on installing a new U-Joint anyway). I prefer the latter, as I would feel uncomfortable putting more burden on Lonnie (money and time). However, if the the opinion here at V8buick is, that I should avoid the combination U-Joint for technical reasons I will bite the bullet and order a 3R yoke somewhere and have it shipped to Germany.
Please give me your advice, thanks.

The 3R universal joint and yoke will be more than fine for most applications unless you are going to put on slicks. You should be able to find a good yoke for about $100 from nearly any vendor and could have it delivered nearly anywhere in the continental US tomorrow for a few extra dollars. It's the same yoke as a TH350 and Summit Racing and JEGS probably list at least 5 choices each for use with a 3R u-joint. For what it's worth I used a Sonnax T3R -3-6081HP. I do not recall where I ordered it from but I happened to see the box last night to Get the number for you in case you were interested.

I will apologize now as that appears to be a special order only from most vendors now. Might be easier to just have Lonnie recommend or resell you a recommended 3R yoke he likes....
