On my 65 Wagon (besides the shoes showing heat cracks)
I noticed the set of "Short Shoes" or foward facing shoes
the pad is bonded lower on one than the other
The long shoes or rear facing shoes are not different
I never noticed this before and its on new and old shoes as well
Could these be Front and Back shoes?
    Left and Right shoes?
It cant be a factory screw up because why would I have so many that are different

    opinions?

Hi Roger, The difference in the shoes is as designed. One is the primary shoe, other is secondary. Hope this helps. JOE :) :) :)

    Hello
Primary as in front axle? vs secondary as back axle?

Each set per wheel has the long and short shoe and the long shoe faces back and the Short Shoe faces front
These 2 shoes in the images are both "Short Shoes" and the pad is bonded different on each
I have never seen this before and was confused on if the Short Shoes are different from front axles to back axles

Hi Roger, Each wheel has a primary & secondary shoe. Primary faces rear, secondary faces front. If you had 2 secondary shoes on one wheel, someone messed up while replacing them. JOE  :) :)
